Math Program

Students practice and strengthen skills in fundamental skills.

Well designed practice enables development of impressive mental calculation, reasoning, and problem solving skills. Progressing at their own pace, students continue to advance through math levels including algebra, trigonometry , probability, statistics. Ultimately, students are well prepared to practice college level calculus.  

Daily Kumon math practice takes about 30 minutes to complete. Students attend class twice a week at a Kumon Center and complete assignments at home the other five days. Every child works at their own pace and masters each new math concept before moving forward. You will watch your child’s math skills advance and see their confidence grow.

Reading Program

The Kumon Reading program is comprehensive.

The concepts covered range from  Reading readiness skills to the study of literature.

Students learn and practice comprehensive  grammar and writing skills ,  reading comprehension skills (fiction and non-fiction) , critical reasoning, interpretation, vocabulary building, and literature—up to and includng Shakespeare. As students progress at their own pace, reading comprehension and writing skills continue to strengthen and improve.  Strong reading skills enhance the ability to solve math word problems.

The cultivation of  a love for  reading, strong comprehension and writing skills are the ultimate objectives of the Kumon Reading program.
